The symbolic meanings of the dance figures are not known to everyone. Here are some examples for your added enjoyment:

The Circle - the wheel of life. Clockwise, representing the life-giving sun; counter-clockwise, representing the moon and rebirth.

The Square - representing man, woman, son, daughter – ensuring the protection and continuity of the family.

The Cast Off - representing the horns of the ram – a symbol of fertility.

The Snake Figure - another fertility symbol, this time representing water.
